Foundations of Finance

THE EVENT WILL FOCUS ON:
CREDIT AND DEBT
Students will learn about credit and debt management, and what effects they have on personal financial goals. By the end of the workshop, students will have learned practical skills to control and manage their finances.
Students will learn about the basics of Canadian taxes, including how they work and how/when to file.
Students will learn where to put their money and develop an understanding of basic investment concepts and strategies.
Are there minimum age requirements to attend the event?
Yes, ALL attendees must be high school students in grades 9, 10, 11, 12.
What should I wear?
There is no specific dress code for the event. Casual clothing is accepted.
What do I bring to the event?
Attendees are not required to bring anything. We provide lunch (vegetarian options are available), handouts, and writing utensils. However, students are welcome to bring their own food, writing utensils, or electronic devices to assist their learning (free Wi-Fi is provided)
What time do the doors open?
The event will begin at 10AM. Doors open at 9:30AM, please arrive no later than 9:50AM to register.
What are the parking options for the event?
We provide free on-site parking for students who wish to drive to the event.
Do I have to bring a copy of my ticket to the event?
No. If you have registered, provide your first and last name at the entrance as well as a piece of valid student ID or government ID.
What if I change my mind?
If you change your mind, please cancel your ticket through your Eventbrite account ASAP.
When does registration close?
Registration will close on June 1st. We encourage students to apply before spots are filled!
